Think I roasted a Toxic....?

I ran Heaven maxed out for a quick run. When it got done I opened up CCC and noticed that my GPU temp on that card was 99.....

The fan is not spinning on that card at all. I can't get it to spin. Did the fan break? These are brand new cards....

I assume I need to RMA it?

Is there a fan header on the card that could have fallen out? If not then RMA.

Question - are you still able to run windows? IF so then it's just the fan that died prematurely. That's a drag, as you'll need to RMA it.

You'll need to call Sapphire to set up an RMA and get an RMA number, before packing the card make sure you switch back to orignal BIOS so they can't say anything that the card was being used improperly in case they test it.

Sorry to hear about this, it happens from time to time, not just your particular brand/vendor. Bummer.

Let us know how it turns out with RMA process with Sapphire. Keep us posted.

Sapphire RMA will take care of you. In my experience they are the best AMD GPU company to deal with. If their warranty was 3 years instead of 2 they would be perfect.

Then it sounds like your within 30 Days they will just send you a new one as opposed to a refurbished. Your better off this way IMO.

I am within the 30 days. I am just really disappointed. Especially since both of these Toxics I had unlocked. Now I have to worry about the timing of getting my replacement and if it will unlock. Does Newegg have some they keep on hand for RMA considering they are always out of stock on these cards? That is what I am worried about too.

ALL the Sapphire AMD 6950 Toxics unlock because of the BIOS switch option.

As for it being in stock, it does come into Newegg still but they go pretty fast due to the higher deamand for those particular 6950's as opposed to the others.

Newegg sold you it and have to promise a replacement, so when the next batch comes in, minus one we'll be saved back to you to honor their orignal purchase.

I don't see you having any problem. Luckily you have another to keep you rolling as opposed to being completely down in the interim.

Update:

Newegg called and told me that they do not have any in stock (deactivated). They stated that they do not plan on stocking them again. They gave me a full refund, minus the $14 it took to ship it back to them. I just placed an order on TigerDirect who DOES have them in stock. It will be here Wednesday and I can get back to my Crossfire goodness. Everyone say a prayer for me that the new one unlocks too!
