Hooray, it finally arrived biggrin.gif And it works cool.gif No major problems whatsoever. Only thing i'm not too happy about is that from a slow boot at start-up and medium boot into W7 it went to a fast boot at start-up and a really slow boot into W7.

Here's a screenshot with some of the usual stuff in it:

M57SLIX4640.jpg

The CPU idles at 18-20 degrees and under load it doesn't go over 35 with the cooler fan not having to pass 5-600rpm. Is it really that cool? Or could the MB be reporting some weird temps here? (Just asking cause i can't believe my eyes:))

In AIDA64, any CPU benchmark gets about double the score (and that's compared to the 5000+ overclocked at 3GHz). The RAM scores on the other hand have dropped a bit (around 1-2k points and 10ns on the latency)

I only have 2 questions now:

1. What's up with my RAMs? (I looked it up and all but i'm still not sure how to set them up correctly) nvm, i found a thread that offered a good explanation after all

2. Do you think it's safe to overclock the GPUs with my 500W PSU?

Hi there,
I am grateful to you for posting this info.

I have the same motherboard, processor and graphics card as you, and yesterday I bought an Athlon II x4 640 as an upgrade.

Have you altered any of the bios settings using the 'Intelligrant Tweaker'? I have been a bit nervous about changing them, so any advice you can give would be greatfully appreciated.

Have you thought about upgrading the graphics card at all?

I'll let you know how my upgrade goes.

Steve

Hi,
My processor (Athlon II 640) arrived this morning, and I am about to install it.

If you hear nothing more from me, you know it's all gone horribly wrong!

It's around 19:45 now - hopefully I'll be back soon... (I'm also replacing my graphics card - but one thing at a time!)

Wish me luck,
Steve

Hello again,
Processor replacement went well - Windows performance index for the cpu went from 6.0 to 7.3, so I am very happy.

What this means with day to day useage, I don't know. Time will tell.

Now for the shiny new graphics card!

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the really late response, i saw your posts only just now.

Intelligrant Tweaker - hm... haven't heard anything about that so i have no idea what it really does. I'm glad though that everything else went fine with your CPU upgrade. What temps is your IIX4 640 getting?

What GPU are you planning on buying now? I'm also thinking of adding a new one but don't know which one to pick (sadly it's gonna be a budget limited decision -.-)

P.S.: Try filling in your rig info, it always helps to have that when asking other users for opinions or help smile.gif
