what good would spending resources and manhours on 2 seperate versions of the game do, nothing. you wont see alot of the fixes prior to the release everythings going towards the code that the release version is on not the beta. why split your resources between 'highly anticipated' and 'heres a taste'

from my understanding is most of the complaints are in regards to graphics, and FPS... turn your settings down. why should they show you what you paid for yet. the betas focus was on gameplay not visual brilliance...

grab a gun and shoot someone in the face, not take aim and look at the scenary

I said the same thing of FF14.

There's a difference between you saying it (because that's irrelevant) versus the devs coming out and saying it (which they have come out and stated already. The BETA build is weeks behind).

Not sure what OCN's infatuation is with assuming to know EVERYTHING about the state of the Beta versus Final release, instead of just waiting 3 weeks until the retail game is out. Who knows, there may even be a Day/Week 1 patch.

It's either going to be much more stable and refined in the retail release (in terms of gameplay, graphics, UI - everything), or it's not. But we won't know until October 25 - I mean, can it get THAT much clearer? We. just. don't. know (unless you're a DICE dev posting in here). But it's soooo much better to be drama queens about it this in every BF3 Beta thread.

The problem I have this is they are not telling us what is fixed and what is not. If they can give us a list of what they fixed we can stop worrying about it and give feedback on things they haven't fixed. Just telling us we fixed most of the stuff you guys are experiencing doesn't cut it.

I'm not seeing why they wouldn't update the beta along with the actual game. I've read that the beta is at the same level in terms of development as it was at Pax... a month ago. Why on earth would they not show us progress? They'd make a hell of a lot more sales that way...

I rather complain now during beta than having to complain about bad coding when it's released.
That's the purpose of the BETA you know.
People using the word whining in situations when it's complaining kinda make themselves look silly.

The only reason I can see (from my limited perspective, outside looking in) for giving us the old code to play with, is the same reason why they left the hacked servers up for so long. They are trying to catch people. It sounds crazy, but think about it: The biggest issues developers of games like this have at the moment are piracy and hackers. Origin is taking care of a lot of the piracy, and now they are casting a very large net with the open beta to catch the hackers. Old code, possibly with known vulnerabilities exposed, old net code, server code exposed, all these things point to either a really smart plan, or a really ****ty company. Call me an optimist, I'll lean to the former until they prove they are the later.

this is the same reason MW2 wasnt given dedicated servers for PC. i mean really? a 360 quick scope headshot while falling from the rafters, yea, thats not a hack
