@3.9GHZ can i still turn on turboboost? 1055t

I have a rock solid oc right now at 3.9GHZ on my 1055t and very happy with it. During my gfx oc i am running into issues with posting lower scores because of the lower cpu speed compaired to others with the same gfx card. I was hoping for some insight into just turning on turboboost during those times where i want to run a single core (3dmark11) at a higher speed for a few moments but dont want to redo my whole overclock to do it.

I am hoping that another has done this and could share their results with me. I am using a Corsair H100 with 4x UltraKaze3000 fans off a seporate fan controller. Temps are awsome right now. Idle at 15C-22C (dependant on ambiant) and max i have ever seen has been 46C. Heat will not be an issue as i should not have to increase volts for this, just dropping 3 cores for 3 higher speed cores.

So what do you guys think?

I messed with the AMD overclocking utility (AMD overdrive) and I was running my 1090t @3.5 and a 4ghz turbo.

when you have a oc that high, your turbo boost may kick the Clock into a frequency that isnt stable. (it will boost your oc to 4.3 GHz and not many 1055T's can handle that)

what you will need to do is see if your cpu can handle 4.3 GHz first then drop it back down to 3.9 if it is stable to be able to turn on turbo boost without the chance of BSoding

Good advice. Overdrive can set how many cores you want to OC.

Thanks all for the responses, good stuff

So basically, oc with utilitys to see if it will crash
oc in bios to see if it will crash
OR

Flick on turboboost and see what happens

In the end the results will be bsod or Eureka!

I can t harm anything using any of the methods above.........right?
