I have a problem that needs assistance! please help

Hey,

I just bought all the parts for my new system and Im having a huge problem and don't know the exact problems. I've narrowed it down to three possibilities

1. LGA 1155 2600K chip
2. Gigabyte G1.Sniper2 z68 Board
3. G.Skill Sniper DDR-1600mhz 8gb memory

Now, i bought the chip and mobo used (yes im a dummy) and the ram is brand new. Now what happens when i press the power button is boggling me. The motherboard lights will turn on, fan spins, and it instantly restarts without pulling up BIOS on monitor. I am kind of a newbie when it comes to troubleshooting and building comps. Also, I have a v6GT heatsink and I believe I installed it correctly. However, if you put enough strength you can somewhat move the heatsink from side-to-side. Not sure if its supposed to not move at all, but the hinge screws are as tight as they can be.

I would appreciate all the help I could get. I really want to get this rig going:/
Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for your time

Check all cables first. Then reseat that heatsink,it shouldn't move like that.

I forgot to plug in the atx 12v plug once and it did exactly like whats happening to you.

I mean all the cables are fine... all the mobo power is connected. A couple friends of mine have narrowed it down to mobo, cpu or ram. Maybe the ram voltage is different from what my Sniper2 runs? I have no idea :/

You are using DDR3. DDR will make people assume you are using DDR1.

Please tell me you didn't overtightened the heatsink. Reseat the heatsink. Check for bent pins on motherboard.

Maybe the previous owner damaged the chip OCing?

Edit: If im not mistaken this chip is fairly new. Im not sure what you paid for it, but if you got a really good deal, maybe previous owner ruined the chip with a sloppy oc

What PSU are you using? Also did you reset the bios? Previous user probably did not and has custom clocks for his parts put in.
