GTX 460 + GT 210 Question

This is probably very stupid but, Fry's has the Asus GT 210 for $18 and am wondering if I can use it for Physx. I probably can't since its lower end card, DX 10, and crappy.

Sorry for noob question

Can I make some use out of it? http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_210_us.html

It's probably too weak to be used for PhysX with a GTX 460. I guess you could use it for powering a third monitor though. Extra desktop space is always nice yessir.gif

I think you can find slightly more powerful cards around the same price though (but don't quote me on that).

The GT210 only has 16 stream processor, rendering it useless for PhysX as you need a minimum of 32.

Yep.

Which NVIDIA GeForce GPUs support PhysX?
The minimum requirement to support GPU-accelerated PhysX is a GeForce 8-series or later GPU with a minimum of 32 cores and a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory. However, each PhysX application has its own GPU and memory recommendations. In general, 512MB of graphics memory is recommended unless you have a GPU that is dedicated to PhysX.

Even a GT220 is useless for it. Anything under a GTS250 isn't worth it for that purpose.

So would a 450 be really good? I thought I saw one for like $60 a couple days ago.
