CRT Monitor Problem

Thread Starter
Having this problem where my CRT monitor doesn't starts up at times (there is no display) . This happens usually after every 5 days , specially after days when the PC is used for a long period.

The problem is only to get it started, Once the monitor has a display there is no problem till the PC is shut down & started & till the next restart. Today the screen freezed a few times after use of 5-10 minutes or so

At the times when there is no display, the indicator light does glows but there is no sound (of the monitor) which is usually made when its started.

Sometimes restarting 5-6 times has solved the problem, other times solved by unplugging & replugging one of the components (GPU , RAM, Power cords ) . So I have not been able to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.
While I think the problem has to be the Monitor, may be It could be GPU , motherboard , Power supply ? . I begun to think it could be problem with the CPU .
Games like GTA IV & FIFA 11 show some slow response. whereas there isn't problem running Crysis 1 or BFBC2 on high. When I go home today Ill check connecting monitor to onboard graphics output instead of the GPU.
Ive checked it & its definitely not a problem of display drivers

Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

Power it down, unplug and plug to the card again will solve it. The connection from the card to the cable is loose, whenever the PC is on after a long time, the signal did not go to the monitor.

What Card are you talking about ? If connection to the the graphics card , then yes I've done that a few times. It has not solved the problem , whereas unplugging & replugging the enitre graphics card from PCi e slot has fixed the problem. But then the restarting a few times also does it at times.
Thanks.

If you have done all that, maybe update to latest graphics driver. If that doesn't help not saying that it would, could just a tell tale sign of aging components.

No input lag and 100+ refresh rate are for starters.

No god awful ghosting that happens on all LCDs, higher refresh rates, higher pixel density, deeper black levels, no input lag, and resolution flexibility

A good CRT is a fine piece of a monitor, indeed. It's just a bit different than LCD. But note: It MUST be a good CRT to be worth anything.
