Got a Crucial m4 128gb did i make a right choice?

i did a long research on what to purchase cause this is going to be with me for a while. I notice that vertex 3, corsair force 3 (GT) or anything using the sandforce controller are giving alot of problems. Also read that in order to achive such excellent speeds the files are being compressed. Intel, Crucial, Corsair perfomance etc seems to use a different controller which is rock solid stable and still have great consistant speed without compressing files.

did i make a right choice?

By the way, i don't really want to fresh install windows 7 again. I could use a clone image program like acronis (which i have) copy a image file to the new SSD right?

Use secure erase to put it back to factory specs.

You should never format an SSD. But good choice on the solid state.

Sorry i meant erase not format. I have use this Secure erase boot up disk when i first got my vertex 2 but i thought there was a simpler method since i had a hard time recognizing my SSD. i had to remove all my sata connecter if not it would hang. Apart from taking forever to erase.

Yes, you certainly made the right choice given the current situation.

I'm using a M4 128 as the boot drive and 120gb Vertex 3 as a Steam drive. The M4 has faster 4k reads which makes it the better OS drive anyway.

thanx, got it install with acronis clone from my previous ssd. Everything worked flawlessly, updated to firmware 009 and this is very speedy ssd. Are this good speed for my M4?
