If we don't participate in beta its their loss not ours, so it does not make it a privilege at all.
+1 to you too sir!
Exactly. If people didn't participate in the Beta, it would be the developer's loss. He doesn't even consider that Betas, by definition, may cause instabilities and crashes. You even have to install a Beta / Preview graphics driver to get the best out of the game, so their only public
attitude should be to be thankful for people to go through the trouble of testing a Beta in a potentially unstable environment.
Not to mention that, like others rightfully said, the open beta has a huge marketing potential. So, privilige ? Not at all. It's in itself a business, only in this case you don't have money going over the counter. You and many others provide their systems as test platforms and free feedback. The guys that never played the Beta and are going to the store to buy the final product will all benefit from it - from the developers work and the Beta testers work - just because playing games is fun, doesn't mean it's not work in some circumstances too- game developers know that very well.
As a person, it's understandable to get mad at other people for not understanding how much work you and your colleagues put into a project, but as a professional he should keep his anger to himself or just talk to a friend or someone qualified about it.Edited by tpi2007 - 10/2/11 at 3:00pm
