The fact is they were actually nice and allowed for a open beta where everyone gets to try the game out. This whole thing is getting way to out of hand and some of these whining little kids need to get the hell out. No one is a guiniea pig, you have a choice, you either play and give helpfull criticizm or you dont. I sure did not get insulted, and I am actually glad someone stepped in and took action. My opinion they shouldve done like Blizzard does with their betas. See if there is stuff like this going on forums with their games.
What do I mean when I say he is incoherent ? Read it again:
"the beta is a privilege, not a right," unless you got a key with a pre-order
He is trying to make a point but then comes up with a HUGE exception, being that the game has 1.5 million pre-orders. So, many people DO have a right, according to his own flawed argument.
And if you read my reasoning you'll understand it's not a privilege in the first place, it's a business. You just don't feel like it because you are not paying actual money. You are paying in goods, with your system, providing FREE technical and possibly personal feedback, and spending your time playing it.
If the reasoning for being grateful for playing a game was valid, people who love chocolate, and taste chocolate for a living shouldn't be paid a salary either, right ?
Also, an open Beta also works as a marketing tool.
Also, the fact that the thread got deleted is most probably because DICE rightfully thought the Community Manager's attitude was not professional at all.Edited by tpi2007 - 10/2/11 at 3:10pm
