Asus P5QC replacement - Page 2

Like I have said those are very old QV Lists so they should've been updated (which they never have been)..

There's no 100% thing about this memory upgrades until you try,I will take that chance..

Let me know how it has worked out for you..wink.gif

Good luck..

I bought the 2x4gb 1333mhz and to my surprise it booted without any problems on 1333mhz. In about 1hour of gaming fifa12 I had no freezes just one crash to windows, but i have a feeling that is the game, not the rams. I will try prime95, and some other games. I have 48 hour notice to return the rams if i have any compatibility problems.

Anyway thanks for your help, if it wasn't for you, i probably would have changed the mobo, let's pray that these will work flawless

Hey dude im so happy that they work..

I assume that you have bought Kingston value RAM 1333MHz 4GB modules (KVR1333D3D9/4G)

Make sure you test it with memtest 4.0 version for Windows Download Link

Run four instances of memtest all at the same time with 1600MB of dedicated memory for each..

Test until it reaches at least 100% on each instance [without errors]..

That's the best way for you to test if your RAM is stable..

Let me know how it works out..

P.S.: For any other additional support regarding your motherboard visit P5Q Pro TURBO/Pro/TURBO owners club here on OCN (the link is in my signature)..

Yesterday, i played some games, ran 3dmark vantage and no freezes. Today I started memtest and let it ran for the time i left home, when I had returned i found the computer frozen but none of the instances showed errors. One was at 82,9% one at 83,2%, one at 82.5% and one on 0% I must decide till tomorrow at 5pm if I return the rams or keep it. What should I do? Pls Help.

That's probably because memtest was not able to free necessary amount of RAM for testing and went on system pagefile (your HDD ) (the same thing happened to me a couple of times)..

Try with less amount of RAM like 1250MB for each instance (or even less)..

Also set manually RAM voltage to 1.65V and set North Bridge voltage to 1.30V..

And what exact model of RAM did you buy?

Report back what happened..

So here's the sitrap.
I bought the KVR1333D3N9K2/8G.

I started another test, in 4 instances, setting the amount of ram to 1250 in each instance. All instances passed over 100% without any error. After that I started another test but setting 2000 in each instance. The first 3 instances reached 100% with no errors, but the last instance remained on 0% and did not changed the whole time, then i stopped it.

PS I kept the voltages to auto.

That is logic,because you cannot test entire 8GB of RAM (4 x 2000MB = 8GB)

Your system would run out of RAM and that's why the 4th memtest does not work..

Enjoy your new RAM dude,it's working perfectly fine since it has passed memtest (4 x 1250MB) without any errors..

P.S.: KVR1333D3N9K2/8G is actually just double pack of KVR1333D3N9/4G modules..
