Thinking of changing my GTX 590 - Page 2

At 1080p I get a solid 90fps average at stock clocks...

Something is wrong. Terribly wrong.

SLI 580s will show an improvement, but probably not enough to justify the losses you might take selling secondhand. Price to performance ratios are nearly identical for the 590 and 580. There's a reason it doesn't cost $900.

ETA: If you were in the US, you might actually make money selling the 590. Some member's cards have gone for $800-$1000USD.

Is it possible that one half has died? Is there anyway to tell and to see what % each GPU is running at?

Also, it seems like it's only using 1 GPU considering the framerate you're getting. IIRC MSI afterburner OSD can show GPU usage per core, so try installing that and turning on the OSD so you can see if it's loading both, or just one GPU.

2 GTX 580 3GB cards would def. be an improvement, but a HUGE investment. Even going to 2x 6970s might see you an improvement, but again, big investment.

If you're running BF3 in windowed mode so you can see your other screens that is likely the problem. First off, BF3 doesn't like it and secondly SLI doesn't function as well in windowed mode.

Hope it works out for you, 590 is a beast there isn't much to upgrade to

1 ultra isnt enabled in bf3 beta
2 its a beta so dont cry about it for now wait for real drivers
3 your cpu is a bottleneck at the stock speed
4 a 590 is basically 2 570s so getting 2 580s isnt gona magically increase your fps over like 20%

1. Im pretty sure you can change the graphic settings from Automatic to Ultra, unless im trippin.
2. Troll much bro? And it ain't just the BF3 beta im having issues with all sorts of games, Black Ops. Total War: Shogun2
3. Over-clocking my CPU is not going to make a huge difference (so i've been told.. )
4. I was under the impression that a 590 is like two 580's but under-clocked..
