since i've been folding non stop for the last two weeks my cpu temps have been around 52-58 C and my motherboard temps have been around 34-38 C depending on the time of the day

nothing else is overclocked and this is my sig rig

I've had mine running 24/7 for a few months now and it's all good. Two 6970's running at ~70C and CPU at ~45C 24/7

It would be better if the CPU wasn't bottlenecking even the first card. Don't get much of a performance boost, waiting for Bulldozer for that. Just using them for BTC Mining. The card in the x4 slot is barely slower than the x16 one. Going by my Mhash/s I get a 1.028571428571429% performance decrease on the second card

thanks, i have plans to get a second R6850 along with bulldozer in the future. part of the consideration would be is it worth getting a motherboard with x8 x8 or would x16 x4 do.

I wouldn't say the <2% performance boost would be worth it. Just OC your PCI slots and cards and you'll be fine

to be honest i have no experience with any kind of pci or gpu overclocking.... but it's something look into in the future...

thank you for giving me a heads up ... if what you're saying is true then you're saving me a lot of money down the road.

to be honest im quite really with the performance of my rig right now, huge upgrade from an 07 thinkpad.
