I'm getting this so far...

cpu: Phenom II x4 955 BE
mobo: Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
RAM: ???? I want 8GB
SSD: Crucial 128GB m4
Cooler: CM hyper 212+ Amazon has one with a dual fan for $27

All of the 3 RAM sticks are great. Color choice mostly. You can't go wrong going Corsair that's for sure and G.Skill is very popular for doing ram sticks. Probably the blue ram sticks are better for intel stuff, but since you are going for a 955BE, it won't matter.

You won't see any difference with his rig. And since he is limited with the 955BE to a certain point, there isn't really any app that won't be bottleneck by the CPU before it is RAM speed bottlenecked.

I think I will just go with an i5 2500k I posted in the intel thread. I don't want a half-ass pc. I want top of the line and whats available today. So I may pass on this budget build for now.
