TV Showing Black Screen - Page 3

Try these 2 ways:-

1) While booting up, go into Safe Mode and see if the booting can continue successfully with display into the desktop.

2) Go into NV CP and use Change resolution-->Customize-->then create and save a resolution of 1360 x768 @ 60 Hz. Use this customized resolution to boot again.

If you wish to try the dummy plug approach, you can get it here:-

Or, make one like this:-

Ok, I tested what you have said, with just the Monitor cable plugged in, however nothing changed.

I start the computer, it shows the boot menu with the F2/F12 options, then goes black. (Even if I chose one of the options in the boot menu, the screen stays black.)

Get a dummy plug or jimmy rig by connecting 2 pins of the DVI output. Links in Windfire post.

What OS are you using? Windows XP?

Does your monitor have HDMI? Try using just your monitor with the DVI->HDMI cable. I'm curious to see if it's the graphics card or your tv.

OK, it is not the OS check but it is the hardware limitation. The dummy plug will solve it.

Here is a short video of what happens when I start the computer and have just the monitor and dummy plug connected. The video makes the screen look blueish, but in reality its black.

Here is a screen-shot of of what it looks like when everything is plugged into the video card.

I am running out of wit as what to be the cause other than the card itself or the plug itself.

Edit: swap the card with GTX480 and see how it goes.
