You're kidding, right? Could you please support that opinion with any third-party data/evidence?

Saying it doesn't look good is an opinion.
Saying the performance and quality isn't good; misstatement of fact.

Whatever you end up doing...good luck, sir.

good that you didnt read what i wrote about the triple xfire

Forgot to mention that the AsRock z68 extreme 7 gen3 you chose is a good one, but I found this little print on Newegg's product page: "(PCIE 3.0 is only supported with Intel Ivy Bridge CPU. With Intel Sandy Bridge CPU, it only supports PCIE 2.0.)".

Another MB you may consider is this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157263

And just one last thing, I don't think 800D would be as great for aircooling as for watercooling.

Here's my input in this thread:

CM690 with 4 intake fans and 4 exhaust fans CPU WC'ed.

3HD6950(1536sp) stock cooling.

playing BFBC2 with fans set a 66% fan speed.

Running 3240x1920 eyefinity. about 80%++ gpu usage each.

Top GPU temp : 74c max recorded with HWmonitor.
Other two cards get about high 50's low 60's.

I would recommend you any motherboard that has 3 pci-e 16x that do not require a 8 expansion slot case, so you don't loose the bottom connections of your mobo.

And no need to spend too much on a case, a CM690 II will suffice.

Unless in the future you intend to WC the whole set up, than i would get something like a HAF -X.

I thought I did read. I as labeling the 6970 as either a store bought 6970 or an unlocked 6950.

My question was the heat vs performance gain of the 6990+6970 or tri6970 given an aircooled case.

Just read that there is a switch on the 6990 to make its clock speed that of 6970, not sure if thats references or what.

1. The 800D is woefully inadequate for air cooling due to a poor design.
(The data shows that unfounded opinion to be patently false. Instead of apologizing, or even admitting to posting something erroneous, you attack on another front to divert attention...)
2. The 800D is poorly engineered and unusable as a case due to dust concerns.
(We're talking about the 800D here, and the 800D specifically - not a bunch of random videos. Link us to something that supports your position, such as an 800D owner who is experiencing, as you say that would happen, incredible dust issues.)

If you're going to come out swinging against the quality and engineering of an 800D (or anything for that matter), provide actual data and evidence to support such statements. As in stands, your posts are a disservice to the people that come here looking for solid, factual information.
you know what, sure.... you are right. happy now? if you can't see the difference after all of the explanation i've provided then there is no point. maybe somewhere down the road when you master the technical skill of arithmetics and understand that physics actually does exist, you may have a better grasp of what I'm trying to explain.

In YOUR "clean room" environment world, 800D performs like a FT02.(as YOUR data has shown) it's like saying have a passive cooler(no dust) perform as well as a push/pull cooler(lots of dust) and you STILL don't understand how a passive cooler would be considered superior...

there is nothing more anyone can say to change your fanboism so I concede defeat. you win an internet argument!!!!

for the rest of the people who does not live in a HEPA filtered clean room environment where dust actually exist, you can see what the FT02 can do.

The delusion of grandeur here is alarming; no one has sought, or actively seeks your explanation for anything. All that's actually requested is data to support the opinions being given out.
