Someone at work found out my ADP password and revealed it...please read - Page 4

So an update about what happened today. I spoke with my brother about what I suspected was going on within the company: organized crime

He then told me that a week or two ago, the coworker was speaking to my brother about how much money he had and that he had no will. He wanted my brother to be the beneficiary and said he needed my brother's driver's license and social security number.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?? Someone is going to ask you for your driver's license # and social security number so they can put you on their will.??This was around the same time management was taking copies of our driver's licenses and taking photos of u and I was threatened with my job for resisting.

I went into the manager shortly after I began my shift and told him everything that's been happening. About my personal information at stake because the supervisor found out my password. About how he threatened me with "an unemployment check" if I refused to have my driver's license copied. How he threatened me that I could die.

I am LIVID right now. How could this be happening under management's nose and no one notices a thing!?

The manager suggested that I must have wrote the password down. NO!
He suggested that I took the unemployment joke too seriously. NO! He told me once to "start looking for another job" when I voted against working third shift.
He told me I took the death comment out of context. NO. I *felt* threatened there fore I *was* threatened.

I am proceeding to make a formal written complaint hand delivered to HR, bypassing the chain of command. I don't care if I go over the manager's head. He's not taking this seriously...I AM!

I dont know what to make of this thread lol. Keep going to HR, if HR doesn't do anything for you, get a lawyer. If you dont want to do either of those, quit that job and find another if you fear for your well being.

dont sweat it dude, they are only doing this cause its making them feel empowered.

your bank should have a free/cheap credit monitoring service, setup alerts on any withdrawals or deposits..

bank account isnt very private to begin with...what are you worried about exactly when it comes to your financial info?
all your checks have your bank information on them..
pretty much everything is fairly public to begin with except your ssn, but lots of companies have access to ssn this isnt some hidden secret..

what are you worried about exactly? theres not much that they can do...
just keep an eye on everything, what does adp store exactly?
all/most financial entities, usually will refund any fraudulent charges / withdraws including debit if you report it within a few days..

dont sweat it, tell them to go fck themselves and they dont know what YOURE capable of.

That is exactly what HR is for.

THIS is very important, and do not confront the guy. Write it all down and pretend like nothing is happening. Go through your HR representative and refuse to talk about it with anyone else. Don't let it get blown out of proportion, you've already set the wheels in motion to get your fears settled.

should have never went to the manager. so many people here told you to go straight to HR. listen to the advice people give you. i can almost guarantee that the manager had a talk with the supervisor (without naming names) and said something along the lines of "your jokes are being taken out of context."

HR is in place for a reason, if you dont use it correctly or listen to the advice when given, you are pissing away your chances of getting serious issues resolved.

And for the record, going to HR isn't "going over anyone's head". HR is supposed to be accessible to everyone.

The guy asking your brother for his DL and SSN is a pretty clear indicator that there's something going on, though.

Changing your passwords was the obvious first step, but if they're hacking them from the inside at ADP, it may not do much good. You might want to check out the Cyber Crime division of the FBI.

Just remember, once you start that ball rolling, there's not much stopping it. It sucks to have to make that leap, but that's where you're at.
