Bad Ram?

Thread Starter
Hey guys so I recently bought a 2gb kingston 1066 ram stick and removed my 800 2gb and 800 1gb stick. So then about 2 months ago I installed them all at once and ran my 1066 @800. Then I went back to the single 1066, this is all due to oc'ing and what not.

The problem is now when I try them all at once my pc won't boot. It won't even boot the 2gb 800 alone or the 1gb alone. It only boots the 1066 alone. So what can be the problem? I already reseted the bios and still nada. Any ideas???

Did you try each stick on it's own? Try to find the bad DIMM.

And did you say you tried the 1066 RAM with the 800 RAM together? That wouldn't work i don't think, The 1066 sticks would go to 800mhz speeds from what i have heard.

Yes I tried them all individually and only the 1066 passed. I know the 1066 drops to 800 that's what it used to do, but now for some reason my other two sticks aren't working. Is there anyways to check ram sticks?

Only way to check them is to run memtest but if you can't get them to boot Try putting in the 1066 stick and setting it to all the default values of the 800 stick then switch them with those values set in the bios.

Hmm, Do you have another computer? If you do, Try to see if it works in that computer,

If it doesn't work, Maybe the RAM sticks are dead.
