95W 1035T, Voltage for 3.1GHz Overclock

Thread Starter
Hi I'm looking for advise on the voltage sweetspot for a 3.1GHz overclock on a 1035T.

Default Clock is 2.6GHz, which is why I want to overclock.
The Processor is only 95W.
Core voltage is 1.2.
Board is GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3.

I am assuming 1.36?

Keep you voltage under 1.55 and temps under 62c. Try and keep your HT link around 2k, and NB maybe around 2400-2800 around 1.35v?

so for sweet spot id say 1.35 1.4? the limit from amd is 1.55 so just push slowly and not too high

There is no sweet spot that everyone can use - you must find this yourself for your chip.

Every chip is different and requires different voltage.

^Steve has some good advice above about your other settings.

Ehh, for 3.1 ghz you will likely have to reduce voltages instead of increasing them. Stock voltage is way too high. Mine is 1.275v for 2.8ghz, I can do 3.445ghz on 1.2v.

You have to test what your chip is capable yourself.

This processor's turbo mode is 3.1GHZ and the voltage at turbo mode is anywhere between 1.225 - 1.425 so I figure that setting it at 1.425 and going up to 3.1 ought to do it.

That's excessive voltage and will cause way too much unneeded heat and shorten the lifespan of the CPU. Try 1.2v instead and stress test it with Prime95.

As I said once, stock voltage is way too high.

I don't get it, stock voltage for 1035T is 1.2v which is low but you're saying that I should not even touch the voltage?

BTW what was you stable(tested with prime95) overclock?

I see, but the other guy is saying that 1.2 ought to do, that to me is kind of odd. I guess I'll test it all out, thanks for the help everyone.
