i5 750 only using one core

Thread Starter
My cousin installed driver san fransisco on his pc with an i5 750 quad core, and he went to launch it and a message came up saying that a minimum of two cores are needed to play the game.

so i told him to go into msconfig then to the boot tab to check if he could select more than one core to run when the pc boots, but he only had the option of selecting one core which leads me to believe that not all cores are being recognized.

how can we make windows or the motherboard use all four cores? Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Check if they are all enabled in the BIOS

It should be an option in the bios to enable all cores. Search for it... It should be in the cpu options next to the overclock tab.

An unstable i5 will run with only 1 core active. Remove any OC to test this hypothesis.

This might help. Go to power options in the control panel and look for power saver and and then go into change advanced power settings. Then scroll down to processor power management. Increase minimum and maximum to 100%. I had the same issues before and adjusted those settings and walla all cores were going at full throttle at 100%.

It might work for you. I know it did for me.
