Did newegg just sell me a used SSD?

Thread Starter
So I purchased a "new" Crucial M4 64gb SSD about a week ago when it was on sale for $95. I received the drive yesterday and just got done installing my OS and everything on my SSD+HDD today. After reinstalling everything, I went to try and update the firmware on the SSD only to find out that it had already been updated to the latest one (0009). I thought at first that since I had purchased the newer CCA model of this SSD that they all already came pre-updated with the latest firmware, so I didn't think much of it at the time. I've been reading the reviews of this drive on newegg though, and most people are mentioning in their reviews that they have had to update to 0009 manually. Now this gets me to wonder why mine came with 0009 pre-installed if theirs did not, which is why I'm wondering if maybe they had sold me a pre-owned one for the price of a new one.

Anyone with the CCA version of this drive get it with the 0009 firmware pre-installed? Am I just being paranoid? Are the voices in my head right?

Whats the manufacture date of the drive and when was the update released?

check your SSD with programs like SSDlife pro it tells you how long its been on and how many times it been turned off and on.. if its way more then you have used it, then most likely its used...

Look on the bottom of the SSD where it says "Firmware Rev"; what's the number?
It could have just been a revision drive and Newegg didn't label it or weren't told to label them as updated to the latest firmware.

SSDlife says that it has been powered on 8 times, which seems about right I think. I'll go ahead and check the rev on the bottom of the drive though just to make sure.

8 times only? then 99% sure its not used, when was that update released? maybe you just got a new shipments of it so dude no worries just over reacting

Yep, just being paranoid I guess. I just got done checking the rev on the bottom of the drive and it said 0009. The firmware was only released like a month ago though, so I wasn't sure if enough time had passed for the newer revisions to have made it into circulation yet.

Anywho, thanks for the help! It would've bothered the heck out of me not knowing if I got a used drive or a new one.
