The only problem is the Sandforce Drives are kind of suffering from controller issues frequently or so I hear. I went with the Crucial M4 this go around as the reviews point to it being the most reliable. I guess its kind of like playing cards, you may win, you may lose!

The Crucial M4 is better at 4k read speeds than all the Sandforce drives. And it's number don't drop when you make it work with incompressible data like Sandforce does. Plus it's more reliable.

M4 for the win.

BTW, the Patriot Wildfire and Vertex 3 max iops are the two fastest Sandforce drives. Corsair does not have a version to match them. Their highest, the GT, is equal to a regular Vertex 3.

I'd pick up the corsair force 3 series for reliability over 5MB/s or something, corsair has always been good to me.

Almost all sandforce controllers before June 2011 had some kind of firmware-fixable fault. I haven't heard anything negative since the new batches.

You can't be serious? There have been plenty of people on here buying the drives and bsod happen.

The firmware update from June solved nothing. That's why another one was just released days ago.

I love Corsair but that's a rebranded Sandforce drive. Not worth the potential problems.

actually, the corsair force GT 120gb has a max read speed of 555MBps and a max write speed of 515MBps, compared to the OCZ vertex 3 MAX IOPS 120gb which has a max read of 550MBps and a max write of 500MBps, making the force GT on paper, the fastest SSD on the market.

Just do be aware OP of the sandforce controller issues which MOST SSD's on the market (except the crucial M4 and intel series) have. Some are perfectly fine, others are not and it really is luck of the draw

Not the firmware update, the actual product models. Maybe you're all buying pre-june stock? its only been a couple month.

http://www.maximumpc.com/article/rev...e_gt_120gb_ssd

It may be the fastest on the market for sequential speeds with compressible data but it's hardly the fastest overall drive when you know what you are actually looking for in a ssd.
