6950 Overclock

Thread Starter
I have a 2GB PowerColor 6950 and was wondering what the max settings are that I should use in AMD Overdrive.

My maximum potential overclocking options are as follows:
950Mhz GPU Clock
1350Mhz Memory Clock
+20 Power Control
Auto Fan Control

Could I just max out the GPU clock and Memory Clock or is there a ratio I should use?

There's no definite ratio, you have to make sure the clock is stable with decent temps. I run my 6950 at 880/1375 on stock volts. Since I do not dare OC it more :S

Alright so what do you consider max stable temperature?

They can take some high temps but I don't go over 80C for 24/7 use. As long as everything is stable and your temps are good the max clock limits in CCC are fine. It's not a guarantee how far you will get on stock voltages though.

Alright so I just set mine to 900/1335 with +20% power control and 70% fan speed. Seems to max out at about 78c... Hope this doesn't push my stock voltage though

Thanks

no ratio, just make it stable. Mine is set to 945/1410 on stock volts, max temp is about 68*C with benching and only 64-65* gaming/folding. Fan is set to 60% for that temp range
