HD6870x2 2GB

I searched and saw no Duplicates!

Hey guys, i was wondering if the HD6870x2 powercolor would run BF3 @ Ultra 1080p based on beta ( im pretty sure i read somewhere ultra is locked though). I was going to get an 580 but the 6870x2 is 70£ cheaper, but i really wanted to go AMD this time around!.

Thanks

im putting my money on it, it is just 2 6870's in SLI and that card tops a 1.5gb 580 in Metro @ 1080p (i wish i could find that benchmark again....)

It will be decently more powerful than a single 580. Will it run BF3 on Ultra? I'm not so sure. It depends on the rez. I'm guessing it may be very near to ultra minus maybe one setting (like AA or something). The only reason I assume that is because DICE said that to completely max out BF3 you would need SLI 580's, but again I don't know what rez they're talking about.

Go for the Powercolor HD6870x2. It is faster than GTX580 in most of the games. See chart 1 below for example.

As far as BF3 is concerned, see chart 2 (BF3 settings) and chart 3 (Nvidia's recommendation). It is highly likely HD6870x2 can max out BF3.

Edit 1:
There is actually a stronger monster. A HD6950x2 by Triplex based in Taiwan.

6990 is a better card than a 6870x2, by far

windfire - the 6850x2's aren't coming to the west. I believe they are Asian market only.

Im going to get the 6870x2, just need to find the best price now.
