Isn't there some kind of popular mod? That's why I posted it in the Mods section.
By "mod" do you mean something cool you can use the slot for, or just something to cover it up?

Covering it up is more of a drive cover thing or a computer accessory than a "mod". If you mean something you can use the slot for, there's probably only a few mods that will take a 5.25" space.

Mods I can think of:

Fan controller (stock, or custom if you want to buy the rheostats, knobs, etc. yourself)
Example - Lamptron's FC-6

5.25" drawer for holding small objects

Hotswap drive dock or 5.25" flash card reader:

You mention stuff being "expensive" or "a hassle". Most real mods involve one or the other (or both) --that's what makes them true mods as opposed to a drive cover or a ghetto-style quick fix.

I did it for a case door on a P180, it didn't take long at all.
Checked out Antec's store.. they don't have the cover for my case.

Well no, I enjoy doing mods. Waiting for some package to be delivered is what I consider a hassle. Not as bad as having to go out to a store and pick it up, but you know what I mean.. I don't want to waste a few hours on something so small if I'm not doing it myself and can feel accomplished.
It feels like going across town for Home Depo just for some screws, you know?

Also, I don't want to buy any fan controller or card reader or whatnot.. the p190 has a magnetic door and it looks good closed too, so I almost always keep it closed. Again, it's just a real small annoyance of having to basically keep it closed from now on because the empty cage will be unsightly.

Ah well, worth a shot at least.
I say put something snazzy in there as suggested, media hub w/ extra usbs + media slots etc would be nice.

I am wondering if the Antec P180's faceplates will fit. If so, there's an off chance I might have one floating in my massive basement o' parts.

I will check in the next 24 hours and let you know, Track. If I do have one, yours for the cost of shipping, as I'd have no need for it. You might also want to post a "Wanted" in the For Sale/For Trade threads.

I really appreciate it, but like I said, I may need spare parts for a few different cases, so it looks like I'll have better luck trying to find a universal cover to fit all of them..

MountainMods seem to have nice stuff, but I'll look around.
