Are you seriously crying about a game that's still in the beta stage? Wow... There's plenty of bugs with both Nvidia and AMD cards.

Witcher 2 only supports surround because Nvidia paid them.
The 570 will beat out the 6950 even at 1200p.

I smell a bit of fanboyism from your post and the odor is very pungent.

I would wait to see what happens at release.

Right now it's a toss up, AMD has more vram which is nice for piece of mind, but if you're only looking at a single card solution it's not going to matter, so far even in SLI the frame buffer size of 1.28GB hasn't been a hindrance.

Two things can set the two choices apart.

How fast drivers are updated for optimal performance, and how much tess DICE introduces at retail.

6970 CF with my CPU still doesn't max it out(I get around 58FPS when running outdoors with lots of stuff).

Really?

If you can't wait till the next series of cards is released then I would go for either a 6950 or save a little dough and jump up to a 6970 like I did. I love my R6970, it ran hot as hell for a while until I replaced the TIM but now its running at normal temps even at 980Mhz....

Needless to say I'm a big ati fan. In the end its your choice. Both companies trade blows in different areas. Just try not to listen to all fanboys on either side and look up some relevant benches on both cards.

Some benchmarks have the 6950 ahead and others have the 570 ahead, also as somebody said tessellation will be used in the final game and nvidia cards are meant to be better at it. I'm also trying to decide between these cards, I think the only thing the 6950 has over the gtx 570 for me is 2GB of vram and I might not even need it. Once I have a definitive answer on this my mind is made up but it's been days and I still don't know.

Not to derail, but physx is pretty awesome, if more games used it and AMD cards could run it most people wouldn't knock it.

HD 6950 is more future proof. 2GB Vram is great.
