ADNS-3053. Proprietary to logitech.

The 3053 is based off of the 3050.

What's unatural to you may feel great to others. Same thing can be said about any mouse.

Because of this they moved the sensor down and to the side. As I have mentioned multiple times, a sober design team would have centered the sensor and used two LED's on each side of the mouse.
...seriously?

How does a design team actually let something like that get green lighted? I mean, it's not like most gamers who are into flashy lighting enough to base a purchase on it are going to be buying logitech anyways...why screw the average guy who couldn't care less either way just so you can make the mouse a bit more aesthetically pleasing?

missed opportunity I guess.

Yeah, the G300 fail and limiting the G100 to Asia really makes me wonder who they have making decisions over there cause its almost as if they're purposely trolling me.

The Diamondback and Copperhead managed essentially the same lighting layout as the G300 without moving the sensor so far backwards.

I can't really blame Logitech for this kind of thing. They don't actually understand what people like us value, they're not really very "in touch", so to speak. If CharlesB on the Logitech forums is to be believed, the reason the G400 has angle snapping is that the MX518 had angle snapping and that mouse was very popular. In addition to making it defeatable, I would have also liked them to use a more G500-esque shell (sans the sensor position, of course), I think the ergonomics of that shell are better.

After browsing a few chinese forums, it seems you are correct, although I also found a screen with A3053 ;o

Maybe it was a typo? interesting.
