I like horror games and I still didn't find Doom 3 very interesting.

No doubt, it was the Crysis of it's time. No video card could conquer this beast back in the day.

I never actually got around to playing Doom 3.
You guys all make it sound like it's that good.
Be serious, level with me here, what makes it worth back tracking and playing this?

cool enviroments, enemies. was a good "in your face" horror game.
the story was decent, i remember having fun collecting all the audio recordings to get backstory.

its more or less another footnote in FPS history, so if you want to revisit it, go for it.

It was good for the FPS aspect, all the dark areas were creepy, but the damn imp behind every door got old. It got to the point where it wasn't even scary, you would know when an Imp was going to jump out, ruined the suspension of disbelief for me.

I think a lot of people are looking back at Doom 3 with rose colored lenses. I played it and enjoyed it for what it was, but I only played it once and didn't bother picking it up again, which means it wasn't that spectacular to me back then, and this mod is a little to late now.

you needed a 512MB video card to run it on ultra. 512MB video cards weren't even on the market in 2004.

The original game still look fantastic. For 2004, it was way ahead of its time and still looks better than many games that came out 5-6 years later.
