Also, Could you post some Temps that you get on Idle/Load I think that would be enough to make my decision (:
The idle temps are pretty much dependent of your bios setup, ambient temps, how much flow you chassis provide and what your computer is doing in idle.

Ambient temp: 23c

Chassis: With two fans to blowing in from the front, and one fan + PSU sucking air out in the back you should be fine. A single Graphics adapter like nvidia gtx470 or 570.

Bios: EIST on, c-states on. Core voltage, the higher the worse! Enable EIST and turbo boost can bring idle power draw from CPU down from 13Watt to 5Watt, which reduce heat a great deal. fx 4.8Ghz (48,48,48,48x100) and vcore at 1.38v. In idle it will run 1.6GHz with EIST.

Windows IDLE: Skype, messenger, facebook etc. open.

SUM: All this should give you an idle temp on the cores like 26-31c, dependent on activity on the computer

You can actually see my idle temp on the 3dmark06 image I posted. Its just under the column "minimum" under temp. The idle temp on that screenshot is with my CPU clocked to 5.4GHz, using vcore 1.58v, EIST off, it's a benchmark setup. My IDLE temp in that setup is 35c Expect that idle temperature to drop approx 6-9c when I reduce vcore to 1.46 and reduce multiplier to 52, 51, 50, 50 + enable EIST and turbo boost.

Am I the only one using a NH-D14 on my 2600k? :O

Besides it's big size it works wonderfully.

Yea in my Antec 1200 the side panel can close but I can't put a fan in the side plexi-glass but i've been trying to figure out something about that I really want a fan there so I'm trying to think what to do about it. It would be great for my crossfire cards.

Thread Starter
Hey Everyone, Thanks for the help etc.

Just as a little update I will possibly be waiting for Ivy bridge, Which uses the same socket as Sandy Bridge (:
But if there are not any better Heatsinks out at that time then I will either go with the Prolimatech Cooler / NH-D14 or actually try some Watercooling out.

(:
