eVGA GTX 570 2.5gb vram. Should do quite well and leave me lots of room for the future.

For some reason I have it set in my head that I want the Sapphire Toxic 6850s for CFX, I'm just afraid that I might regret it later if they don't scale quite as well as I hope for BF3 and future games. Hoping someone can lure me onto another card that will be better in the end
For $50 more you can move from a GTX 570 2.5 to a GTX 580 1.5GB. The 580 is faster until 5760x1080.

Plus Q1 2012 is a long times away in technology terms.

People are still buying GTX 400 series cards now even with the GTX 500 series. nvidia and AMD won't price their cards to cannibalize each other's sales.
And people are still using 2xx series of cards .
Yup . Current tech is good enough . I say 570 because its a lovely fast card .

Heh its always for $50 more you can get this upgrade. Originally my budget was going to be $300 for a graphics card. Then I started looking at 6970s and GTX 570s so I was like well I can swing another $100 max for my card and I really didn't want to go quite that high.

Decisions.. Decisions..

So my question is like this. With the release of bulldozer coming I will be building a gaming machine to replace the budget one in my signature. The parts will be pretty much top tier parts as follows. The only problem is I can't decide on what graphics card. I have no preference towards either nVidia or AMD. My current desktop has nVidia and my laptop has a Radeon 4570 in it.

Asus Crosshair V
AMD FX 8150 (or whatever is the highest one in stock)
Ram - 1866 or higher
750w psu
SSD + Hard Drive

Graphics Card - ???

So this is my thinking so far. I pretty much decided that the Sapphire Toxic 6950 2gb would be perfect, however I can never find it in stock so now I am starting to look at other cards. My budget is MAX $400 for a graphics card. Since I am interested in the Toxic line of cards I was debating about getting 2 Sapphire Toxic 6850s and doing crossfire. However doing this leaves me no room to upgrade at a later date without fully replacing the cards. I could go with a standard 6950 and then in the future could crossfire then if I need a performance boost. I could also do the same with a 6970 or SLI a GTX 570.

Sapphire Toxic 6950 2bg - $289.99
Sapphire Toxic 2x 6850 1gb - $379.98
Standard 6950 - $220-270
Standard 6970 - $340-400
Standard GTX 570 - $320-400

I've tried looking at different benchmark testing to decide which card I should go with and currently from what I have seen the clear winner is the 6850s in Crossfire for current games. I'm just afraid that if I crossfire some 6850s in a year or less they might be severely outdated and need to be replaced for a higher end card.

So the other end of the debate though is that if I get 1 6950,6970 or a GTX 570, I would only get 1 card now and perhaps SLI or Crossfire at a later date if more performance was required. My problem is though with the GTX 600 series and Radeon 7000 series looming around the corner in Q1 2012 I would most likely end up replacing any 6970 or 570 anyways with a 7000 or 600 series card.

If you have stuck around through all this and it isn't a complete wall of text this is ultimately my question.

Do I get 2x Sapphire Toxic 6850s, crossfire them and run them like a beast for as long as possible. Or get a 69XX or 570 card and then perhaps replace it in 6-12 months for a 7000 or 600 series card if I need a performance boost?

Open to any and all ideas, suggestions, etc.
Get this card,it costs $419

I don't think I needed to create a whole new thread for this question; so what GPU would all of you recommend for me? I may play BF3, and would like to get some good settings on it with at least 30 FPS.
I the max budget I suppose is $400.

The highest resolution I would do is 1920x1080 in-case that's a factor.

The consensus seams to be to go with a GTX 570

I say go 6950, and then add another if you feel the power is not enough. Great performance for the price, and VRAM 2gb
