M5A97 PRO BIOS Issue

Thread Starter
Hi Overclockers,

I have just built a new PC for my mum with an ASUS M5A97 PRO Motherboard, Phenom II X4 955 black edition CPU, Corsair Vengance 8GB 1600MHz CL9 RAM, HD6450 graphics with a 22" HDTV running in HDMI and a WD Caviar Black 6gb/s 1TB hard drive.

The System runs really smoothly and quickly however when the power switch is pressed no BIOS/POST screen shows instead is a short message that flashes off the screen too quickly to be read. When I repeatedly press the delete key as the computer boots the screen goes black and hangs, at which point I have to power off and reboot the computer. If i do not press delete the computer boots into windows completely normally and runs everything it should do.

I have been looking across the internet and there don't seem to be any obvious solutions to the problem which is that I can't seem to access the BIOS of the computer, or if I can, the BIOS is not being displayed on the screen.

Any Comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. +rep for solution smile.gif

Thanks Guys,
Zack (thebest)

Try using VGA or DVI. I was never able to get it to work with HDMI
