My Dell D530 is practically melting as I type this even though it's raised slightly with my docking station.

I mainly use my laptop for work/school and would like to use it on my lap from time to time. I have my eyes on two, just not sure which one would be ideal for my situation.

Outstanding!

Undervolting plus fan control (keeping it spinning at slow if just doing work/browsing the web, for example) makes a massive difference.
