Antilles bios on a Cayman GPU

Hey guys, great site. sorted many a problem on this site but now I have one that I cant find an answer to so I need help.

I bought a Sapphire HD 6950 2GB Dirt Edition. I wanted to flash it to the HD6970 but found that the bios flash didnt work. PC did not boot. So I tried the unlocking method. Which didnt work either. only because when I used RBE to acquire the bios it wouldnt read. I Used GPUZ to get it instead and found that the GPU read Antilles, which as you know are the HD6990 Cards.

So I eventually found out that my card is not a reference card and that's probably why RBE wasnt reading it. So I took the bios that I got from GPUZ and loaded it into RBE. It read. But again, as Antilles. THe unlock to HD6970 in RBE was greyed out, I'm guessing because RBE think's its Antilles

I have seen other GPUZ screens of my same card with Cayman being read from GPUZ, and some of those achieved the overclock. So I figured that just maybe if I used another bios from someone with the same card who's bios is read as Cayman in GPUZ, It would open up the unlock funciton in RBE and perhaps even read the bios straight from the card in RBE.

Does anyone perhaps have a Bios for my specific card I could try? Or perhaps any advice on achieving the unlock?

Any help would be welcome. I'm going a little crazy here.

Try flashing to a 6970 that uses the same PCB, if that doesn't work, it's likely that you cannot unlock and should go back to your stock BIOS.

Your GPU core could be laser cut, nothing will help to unlock. Flash back the original BIOS. If you really need to edit BIOS, in all 6xxx series card, RBE only supports to edit 3D Voltage. Any other things you touch will result to crash and BSOD. Not worth it IMO.

There are no other cards that use the same PCB This card was altered and is actually shorter than the reference 6950. The Only way I'm able to unlock the shaders (Theoretically) is by flashing it with a bios from the same board that came out earlier; Probably with a Cayman bios.

If that doesnt work then I'll accept that these shaders were physically disabled and carry on my merry way. But Isnt there any one out there with the same card?

This reviewer and many others managed to unlock the cores:

http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1202/pg2/sapphire-radeon-hd-6950-2gb-dirt-3-edition-graphics-card-review-the-card.html

Its EXACTLY the same card. Only thing thats different is the bios which in this link you'll see reads "Cayman".

Come on peeps! help me out!
