Thread Starter
hey everyone! I need to install my ssd in my new pc and am not sure what to do. I'm pretty sure I've read you can transfer everything from your hdd to your sdd so you don't have to re-install everything. any advice on how to do this would be much appreciated. thanx in advance

Yes you can.I have heard a lot of people say the built in windows seven utility works fine.
The option too create a syatem image is right there, and then you can do a restore from that image.

I just backed up my hdd to transfer to my sdd but am thinking to maybe just do a clean install of windows 7. not much on the pc anyways since it's new. do I just set the boot disk in the bios as the sdd and let the second one be the hdd and install windows?

Clean install is always a better idea. In order to do so, unplug your HDD first, set SATA mode to AHCI in BIOS and proceed with install. When the installation is finished, plug the HDD back and have fun!
