Overclocking Help i5

Thread Starter
Hey everyone! I tried overclocking today and heres what happened:

I googled around and got bits and odds about my cpu (760), so i went into my bios and decided to play around, i changed my bootup and eventual vcore to 1.25, my VTT to 1.15, and disabled speedstep and turbo. Then, I lowered my multiplier from 21 to 20, and increased my baseblock to 200 trying to give myself 4ghz, and after that, my computer would just go to a reboot cycle. so it would power on, then power off, over and over with my display never turning on.

This usually happens only once, so on a normal day, it would turn on, then off, then back on , but after my "overclock" it just cycles so i reset my cmos and tried again but to no avail so can someone give me some overclocking guidance?

also, i left vdroop on and didnt change anything else i think...

holy, you left the vcore at 1.4? isnt that a tad high? and is that the lowest you could get it?

also, how about vtt and all the other settings, your reply will be much appreciated ^_^

Not sure about the other stuff, I think I left most default but yea I couldn't get stable @4.0 on a lower voltage but my temps usually stop at 69/70 C on a full load and ~43 idle so I guess it's not too bad. I think 1.4 is fine but I wouldn't go much higher.

Try raising your vtt voltage to around 1.2 to 1.25 and your cpu vcore to around 1.3. if those are stable then lower until you reach instability or if not stable increase each until you reach stability.

Start with something lower such as 3.4 and slowly work your way up from there. It took me forever to get to 4.0. I was at 3.8 for what seemed like forever.
