Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P overclocking? - Page 2

Got my 8120 today and it looks like its not going to work correctly in this board.
The multiplier and voltage jump all over the place and it freezes after 5mins prime fullload.
Iv tried using all the auto settings and setting them all manual but it doesnt apare to use the settings you select and if the ht link is changed off auto it wont POST at all and the cmos must be cleared.

Will update if I can get it going or not.
Have emailed gagabyte since the advertise it as being am3+, 8100 series compatible

I have the latest bios.

It will only work at FX 8100 speeds 2.8ghz. Any faster and it just crashes after a bit of full load.
So time for a new board.

Got a email back form gigabyte which was very useless.
I emailed telling them every thing iv mentioned and that I had cleared the CMOS taking the battery out and using the jumper aswell as loading the default settings while having the latest bios.

Email I got back was just the instructions telling me to take the battery out and update to the latest bios. So I highly doubt they even read it and just some one copy & pasted some default reply in.

Also noticed they have updated the supported cpu list so it says 8100 2.8ghz 95W instead of 8100 series 125W. And they have removed the red note "140W max".

Guess I cant complain since I never thought to take a screen shot because I would of thought they would add support not remove it.

The cpu does work fine in my mates mobo tho and have gotten it to 4ghz on 1.3V

Still 8-12C off max recommend temp (62 TMPIN1) (52 core) for my 1090T so could probably push 1.52V for a few more mhz but not really worth it imo.

ON CPUID Hardware Monitor.

TMPIN0 = North bridge (max temp in specs I could find was 70) mine never goes over 32 with a +0.2V increase but have a fan on it.
TMPIN1 = CPU Socket (max temp in specs for my chip 1090T is 62C)
TMPIN2 = South bridge (max temp in specs says 100C) mine never goes over 50C with +0.1V increase but have a aftermarket cooler.

...

Hi! I have the same motherboard. I was wondering where did you take that data from? I mean the safe temperatures on parenthesis. When I overclocked mine I got this temps
TMPIN0: 47°C
TMPIN1: 57°C
TMPIN2: 63°C

And I don't know if they are too high. Thanks!

i have the same exact motherboard too. whats the default volts for the fx4100? mine says just over 1.41v. and i cannot get 4.5ghz stable at all, even at 1.472v. and thats just changing the multiplier. even upped the NB volts too. im running an H60 with a cooler master sickleflow 120 fan. along with 5 other 120mm case fans.383
