Upgrading to X6 1100T; What's to know? - Page 2

Thread Starter
Ok, STOP. Stop telling me what I "need to do". You guys completely eschewed my first question, which was "What limitations does the 1100T have in the same way that the 965 is limited by its inability to take advantage of OC'd DDR3 RAM". Stop telling me to wait for Intel chips in an AMD board. I don't like Intel, I won't buy Intel, so stop telling me to do so.

I asked for facts, not opinions. Facts like "Are there going to be a whole new set of motherboards with chipsets designed specifically for the Bulldozer architecture once the Bulldozer is released?". Facts like "Will 990FX motherboards natively support Bulldozer chips?".

Don't accuse me of "being pissy after being 'offered help'" because nobody here answered my original questions (read: "was helpful"), so I'm well within my rights to be angry. It's like trying to wrangle a Debate Team comprised of fourth graders who all have to have the last word.

as you can see someone has allready given you an answer on your first qeustion.
and 990 boards will be compatible after a bios update!

and i think there will be new boards after release they can adjust to BD's capebileties but am boards are backward compatible so not alone BD's but al am sockets

Yes, It will support Bulldozer. Great board btw, if I didn't already get the CHV the Saber would be my second choice.

I can see your point, every thread here is starting to say wait wait wait, but for the reasons I mentioned I dont think you would feel a speed increase, for that reason I personally mentioned to wait for benchmarks at least. Unless your current cpu is bottlenecking your 6970, which I wouldnt know never ran anything so powerful (lucky you! lol) the 1100t may not be a worthy upgrade. Get the 990fx board and then see how things roll out on the cpu, unless you can do the $500 all at once, the 1100t is nice. I have seen games use all 6 cores.
