Even after re dl it still refused to work.It would install just not work. Even if i manually typed an IP address, dead. IE8 was working just fine.
M$ is lying there is more to this than meets the eye. I'm not a lawyer but IMHO there were "trust laws" broken here.
I wonder how many affected had un-installed ie9, me the day after it came out? That means m$ is keeping records (and tabs) on every computer out there, laugh now, lol.
Please, this train of though is stupid beyond imagination. Microsoft does track installed files if you install MSE, as part of collecting information to improve the product. Other AV's also do this, and all you have to do is click 'I do not want to join Spynet' in settings if you don't want to be 'tracked'.
The 'personal infomation' that sometimes get sent, generally means your username in a folder location. Unless you have a folder path like
Your safe from being identified.
Also, they only send logs, never any files without your explicit concent.

Because as scary big corporations like MS are, they aren't stupid, and wouldn't remove a competing well known app through a definition update. AV's from multiple brands have dun goofd with definition updates, sometimes completely destroying the os, so that it needs to be reinstalled. But as soon as a microsoft av makes the mistake, its a conspiracy...Edited by .:hybrid:. - 10/4/11 at 8:42am
