Thread Starter
does anyone know any 3D monitor with resolution 1920x1200 does this exist?
I'm interesting to buy a 3D monitor 1920x1200 to play games with nvidia 3D vision and 1080p watch to movie.

Only 3D monitors around at the moment are 1080p max. I doubt we will see 1200p or higher for sometime, due to the large amount of GPU horsepower required for 3D.

Im sure higher end cards will handle it, but 3D is a way to take a cheap to moderate TN 1080p panel and tack on a huge surcharge. Big windfall for the companies themselves, if you will. It's not like 3D requires massive hardware changes, it's mostly software within the monitor.

I agree on the whole surcharge thing.

But 3D does indeed massive h/w changes, you should see what running 3D Vision does to your frame rates lol You need pretty high end stuff for even 1080p with a lot of titles.

Well it appears that there are hardly any 1920 x 1200 non-3d monitors anymore at least at in the fast refresh category and it wouldn't surprise me if it was gone soon. I've been looking to replace my monitor but only find 1080 on newegg at 2ms.

1920 x 1200 is being phased out; 1080p is just the moniker for highest definition to the average consumer. Higher demands for 1080 even though 1200 has a higher PPI at the same screen size.

I actually just moved from 1200 to 1080 120hz.
You can't do 1200P because DVI-D maxes out at 1080P 120hz (3D). Display port should be able to handle it but remember that 3D is doubling the bandwidth of your normal 1080P 60hz monitor. Until they phase out DVI-D and make Thunderbolt/Display port the standard, don't hold your breath.

Little offtopic. Waiting for a 950 also, u know you wont be able to game in 3D right? Only watch movies. Thats one thing that pissed me off with ATI is no crossfire support in 3D.

Plenty of people are using 3D in crossfire mate. Why would you think that?

Because on the AMD website it says its unsupported for the 6990.
3D gaming i mean, not watching movies.
If anyone has a definite answer for this btw share it because i was thinking of getting another 6950 for 3D.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/techn...-hardware.aspx

At this time, due to AMD Crossfire™ Technology incompatibility with AMD’s Quad Buffer, AMD Radeon™ HD 6990 graphics will not support stereoscopic 3D gaming with frame sequential displays using active shutter glasses.
