Strange Lag on BF3 Beta

Not real sure where this should go so I'll stick it here for now..

The first day the BF3 beta came out, it was hard for me to play because after a few minutes I would get some extreme lag every 10 seconds or so that made the game unplayable. I was frustrated so I didn't play again until over the weekend. When I played again, everything was running perfectly for about three full games and on the fourth game the lag came back.

I would assume that heat is causing the problem, but when I monitor the temps, the CPU never gets above ~35C and my top GPU gets in the mid 60C range and the bottom one sees around ~50C. I tried increasing the fan speed on the top card while in game and that dropped it closer to 60C full load but the lag remained.

I can restart the PC and then the game will run fine for a little while and the problem comes back. I'm on the AMD preview drivers that came out when the beta launched so I may try the most recent official release and see what happens.

Anyone else experienced this problem or have any idea what the issue could be? Specs in my sig rig are current. Only thing I'll mention is my GPU's are OCed to 900/1300.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Stuttering/choppy gameplay? I get that, in the beginning it's fine and I don't get it but after a while it starts stuttering a lot until it becomes unplayable, everything on Low and I get around 40-60FPS but it still stutters.

Have you checked how much VRAM BF3 is using?

Exactly. I have tried Low to Ultra settings and it remains choppy regardless. I have not checked the VRAM but I imagine it would be choppy as soon as you start the game if that was the issue.

no problems here, im on the previous drivers (before the beta bf3 drivers) playing on medium with aa/hbao/motion blur off 35-40 fps >.<

other than the ocasional screen flash (like a camera flash) no lag..

you should check how many programs are you running for your GFX card; afterburner/saphy trixx,etc.. gave me problems in the past, only solutions was to unistall them

good luck

EDIT:

dont bother that much man, some people have horrible problems and some dont, with AMD/nvidia cards in single/multi setups.. just wait for the official launch and fixes, trust me, both companys are going to make them.. BF3 is THE tittle to benchmark/brag about it for the extreme nerd/fanboys "gamers", it will drag a ton of sales for both companys..

patience and try what i told you; unistall everything (including afterburner and all that crap) and start over

Is it laggy like when programs leak memory? pausing and then continuing?

Sounds like some program is doing mischief in the background.. Ax it and try again?

I'll double check what's running but I just got my C300 back from RMA so it has a fresh install of Windows and only a few programs installed that should be running during the game (Origin, Chrome, Fraps, and MSE)
