Crossfiring for Beginners - help me!

Hi all. Here are the specs on the rigs I currently own. My goal is to have two fast, STABLE rigs. One will be for our photography business and one will be for me to game on. The photography business will also be doing HD video editing.

Rig 1 (main photo biz rig):
2600k - not overclocked yet
16gb DDR3 1600 ram
Asrock z68 extreme4
2gb 6950
Corsair HTX750W PSU
Noctua D14 cooler
Haf 932 case

Rig 2 (my gaming rig and backup photo biz rig):
Q9300 oc'd to 3.2
8 gb DDR2 800 RAM
P5KC mobo
HD5770
500W Antec PSU
Tuniq tower cooler
Antec 300 illusion case

So, that being said, I think I want to add another 5770 to rig 2. My questions are:

Will my system be stable if I have crossfired cards in it? Do people with xfired sytems have more problems with cpu crashes?
Will another 5770 fit inside my case?
Will my 500W PSU be able to push 2 xfired 5770's? It will push my 6950 fine.

My other option is to put the two 5770's in rig one. I think they will fit and have enough power, but I'm worried about stability as this is our main business computer.

Thoughts?

should have added that I plan to play BF3 on either of the computers....so I guess I need to know as well if I'll see decent FPS with crossfired 5770's....how will it compare to on 6950 in BF3 or BFBC2?

You should have bought a pair of GTX 570's for your photo business. CUDA would have helped you A LOT with HD video edition You can always use Intel QuickSync, anyway.

But anyway.

Will my system be stable if I have crossfired cards in it? Do people with xfired sytems have more problems with cpu crashes?

As long as the drivers and the OS are up to date, yes, the system will be stable. I don't see any reason why it would crash as long as you don't make insane overclocks.

Will another 5770 fit inside my case?

If you're talking about the Antec 300, I don't see why it won't fit another HD 5770. Wanna upload some pics?

Will my 500W PSU be able to push 2 xfired 5770's? It will push my 6950 fine.

I'm not too sure about that one. Maybe, but I'd be careful. I never dared to run dual GPU systems with less than a 700W PSU ONLY as a preventive measure, but you'd be better off asking someone else.

Thanks for the info Ice. I'll try and get some pics up. At this point though, I'm thinking it best to just leave everything as is. You say the sytem should be stable, but I have read other places that it isn't. I would love more input from other people on this who have crossfired their cards...

Also, not sure how much of a performance gain I will get out of adding another 5770...

Thanks again for your response Ice.

Expect 50-85% performance increase as it varies per game. Opt for a 700watt psu. It is far more than what you need so you dont strain your psu and if you plan to upgrade your crossfire setup, you dont have to upgrade the psu again.

I'd rather you not crossfire that 5770. Sell it and get something like a 6870 or 560ti. Almost twice as powerful without twice the energy requirements and stability issues.
