They shouldn't have to test for that if AMD kept up to OGL standards. The game was written with the latest OGL standards in mind, it's not their fault AMD didn't put that in their drivers.

The point is, if you write an OGL based game by the OGL standards you shouldn't need to test it. That's what APIs are for, there should be NO need for hardware specific fixes if the drivers support the API. So again, I blame sloppy drivers not holding up to standards that are defigned for this specific purpose.

Well I just picked up my PC copy. I thought that rage was a open gl game for some reason but the back of the case says enhanced for DX10, 64 bit, and multi core cpus. Yes DX10 and not DX11. Cant want to get home and try it out.

I have 0 problems. Yet again its problem with ATi gpu's as usual. ATi owners are used to it. Different drivers for different games. Pass on

Lol. Console port? This game looks pretty darn good on my rig at 1920x1200, 16xAA and GPU Transcoding on...doesn't even come close to looking like a console port.

I forgot though, this is OCN; graphics not bringing systems to their knees? Console port. Graphics too much for most systems? Unoptimized garbage. There is no pleasing anyone these days.

Aside from id's and AMD's shortcomings on working together for the a smooth release, this is a great game, IMO.

The mega-texturing can use a LOT of VRAM, so as certain textures leave the camera's view frustum they're likely moving to lower res versions, and then as they come back into view they're grabbing the higher-res version. My guess is that this is either a bug, or that the person in the video doesn't have a good enough GPU (with enough VRAM) to be running on the settings he's using.
My internet is terrible atm so didn't check the whole thread but its running on Mobility HD 5870... (5870M) Its a laptop? So it fails... lol
