The point is, if you write an OGL based game by the OGL standards you shouldn't need to test it. That's what APIs are for, there should be NO need for hardware specific fixes if the drivers support the API. So again, I blame sloppy drivers not holding up to standards that are defigned for this specific purpose.
You are right to a point, there should be no need to test something built to a specific standard

But as a software tester, which I am, you always test it. Just because its supposedly built to a standard is no excuse not to test it.

When is the last time these ATi fanboys where happy with launch of a new game. Every new game they start blaming developers, what a disgrace to community. They are so blind enough that they don't know their very own driver is the issue. Same thing for Crysis 2,Bulletstorm,Hard Reset,Alice:MR,Dead Space 2. Black mark for a game is easily given by ATi users. I'm 100% sure Nvidia users have 0 problems.

John Carmack stated many years before " If there is problem with my graphics code running on Nvidia class hardware it is a problem with my code. If the same problem occurs on ATi class hardware its the driver failing to communicate with glextensions"

I think it's great that forums exist for people to post CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, but when you go slag off a company/ game when you really know nothing about what goes on behind closed doors without understanding the tech side of it, you just make yourself look like an idiot.

PC gamers must easily hold the crown for being the most selfish, entitled bunch in the tech world.

Apart from this, I think the game looks great and I can't wait till it's fixed so I can enjoy it.

Yeah he did. Didnt even bother citing the source.

OT: preorder from newegg should arrive today. Got my machine prepped already with the rage driver. Just not sure whether I open the game or return it.

Seems like vRAM issue. Relatively easy to come by, if you are playing at large resolutsion with 1 gig GFX card if you use AA or extra large texture packs.

Say a 27'' DELL or 3x1080p Eyefinity.

Can be amplified if you have on top of that low amount of physical RAM in your PC or are running 32 bit op system.

Very highly disappointed in this 'game'. Why are you going to release a game that is so BROKE! Really. I had high hopes for this games since ID was making it. Guess I was wrong yet again about another game dev. What is the point of releasing a broke game? Are you trying to piss people off? After downloading all 22GB of this sorry excuse of a game, I tried to play it and was suddenly halted because I am using an AMD graphics card. Really? Do you idiots not test your games at all? Not only that but all of the other graphical problems in this steaming pile as well. And I am sure there are a lot more issues at the time as well, but since the game is unplayable I can not tell what else is broke. BTW, Blizzard's SCII worked on release day and very well at that. You can do that too if you wanted to. I am disappoint!

Exactly. I dont care what they or anyone in here sais, it is your responsibility as a game dev releasing a game to test your software. Guaranteed all they have in their tester studios is Nvidia hardware which is very unfair for %35 or so of the PC gamers who use AMD.

from what i hear this is also happening badly on consoles.

Running perfectly on my rig.

While there's an ID's fault there, for not testing / cooperating with AMD. But that doesn't change the fact that it's AMD driver mess that is at the core here.

Yep I do agree that AMD is partially to blame here. I am just disappointed that ID decided to sweep the issue under the rug and hope it went away on its own. They could have done a number of things to prevent this.
