I wasn't referring to the pop-up.

Did anyone watch a single RAGE interview? They (and by they I mean id) were over-confidently bragging about how their game's visuals will be unmatched by anything seen before.

This is normally the part where a let's say "supporter" would play the "gameplay card" or draw attention to story, sound and 3D models. Unfortunately enemies repeat the same sentence every 5 seconds, the 3D models are very blocky and low poly and the story is uninspired, short and generic.

I dunno, I still think it looks really good.
Maybe not the benchmark everyone around here was hoping for, but perfectly acceptable to me.

I was having alot of issues before I installed the Rage Performance Driver:

That pretty much fixed everything for me, basically the game was slow an unplayable for me. I installed it ontop of the 11.9's, no uninstalling or driver sweeping.

Sanctum, that TD game, had this issue too. I think you were able to disable such a feature though. It was actually a texture drawing feature; dynamic textures I believe? I dunno. But it was fixable if you didn't like it.

Also, the OP article shows that this should fix the pop in.

"C:\Steam\steamapps\common\rage*\base\default.cfg

Add “set com_allowconsole 1″ without quotes to the top

If you launch game directly from Steam the console will now be enabled.

Type in console: “cg_usecompression=0″ without quotes and hit enter, then enter “cg_useprecompressedtextures=0″ without the quotes."

Neither Quake 4 nor Enemy Territory: Quake Wars were id games. Quake 4 was Raven Software, and ET:QW was Splash Damage. Both games did utilize idTech4, but they weren't idTech games. Might as well blame Epic for 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand since it used UE3. The last game id actually made was Doom 3.

Yep, I'd pay $25 bucks tops for this. So glad I didnt piss away $60. Multiplayer looks like junk. 9 hour campaign for $60? No thanks.
