If they don't release a fully PC capable patch, I will be reluctant to get it.

Where did you get 9 hours from?

Everything I've seen says 15 hours going straight down the main story.
Joystiq says 9 hours and change...

Its not. My game runs really well. This is also the only game that I've played in a long time that doesnt feel like it was made specifically for the 360 controller. I dont have bad texture pop in, but yes, the textures are a little low resolution (which carmack said when he gave his quakecon keynote). The game is fun, and just like Crysis 2, people are gonna hate on it without even playing it. The animations, character models, graphics, and controls are all superb.

I find it amusing all the people on this site saying Carmack dropped the ball, or how this is Bethesda's fault. It's amazing how little gamers actually know about game development, and how easily they criticize something that hundreds of dedicated developers have worked on for years. Here's something important to remember: Most games ship with hundreds of known issues, and hundreds of unknown issues, and there is literally NOTHING that can be done to stop that short of delaying a game for years or holding extended beta tests. Well, for PC games this is a problem at least, consoles generally don't have as many known issues, and have far fewer unknown issues due to their OS and hardware consistency, which causes about 95% of all major PC game bugs.
It really doesn't matter because there are thousands of games that have been released without game breaking bugs. These guys are making millions of dollars and therefore deserve no slack for being lazy. People supporting these methods is even more intolerable than the devs themselves.

This game looks horrible for me.

Not doing the same thing as the video though, i get horrible big chunks of artifacting around the edges of my screen and massive amounts of screen tearing.

I know it isn't an issue of insufficient hardware

ok how do i open the console in the game once i've enabled it?

This might explain a bit for the AMD users. That is if you installed the Rage drivers.

Quote:
All - don't use the current Rage performance driver - package includes very old OGL files, that's why you're seeing corruption etc.
Quote:
New Rage driver with proper OGL component will be posted later today

No, but you are running 4 cards. The issues could be related to that.

Especially if the drivers seem to be the source.
