Samsung Galaxy S2 battery life - Page 2

The battery widget I was talking about is called 'Power Savings' for me, its the width of one screen and is one 'unit' high
also, I am running GoLauncher EX, so I use holding the home button for preview (to edit and delete number of homescreens) and swipe down for app drawer.
there are alot of nice functions that you wouldnt think you can de-activate, when you can, I have all extra communication things off also, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth.
anothrr good idea is to get Minimalistic Text off the Market, and create a battery-widget, it keeps me concious of my battery use (percentage wise)

Best solution: Custom ROM from XDA-developers

What modem firmware are you running (Settings -> About -> Baseband version)? The KH3/KI3 modem has improved battery significantly. Also, any of the Android 2.3.5 KI3 based ROMs offer way better battery life than their predecessors

Flash a custom ROM and kernel. My SGS2 drained around 50% battery when I went to school and came back (8 hours total) with medium use, and now it only drains 20% in the same 8 hours with Lite'Ning ROM v6.1 and Speed Mod Kernel T39.

This is with data constantly left on, brightness at 25%, medium use, calling, etc.

Thanks all for the replies. What I did right now is I turned brightness down and flashed ke7 version which is supposed to fix the battery leak issue. If not, I'll just flash custom fw

KI3 Rom is vastly superior in battery life.
53 hours with over 3 hours screen time and wifi/facebook sync on one charge.
I recommend RevolutionROM 2.7.1 rom with the stock kernel it comes with.

Thanks for the advice After upgrading my fw to ke7 my battery life improved by a looot. I tend to play games on my phone when I'm bored and I still have about 40% battery life at the end of the day (after 17 hours). So I think I'll stick with it for now and see whether I need more battery life or not

The following off:

3G
WIFI
GPS
Blue Tooth
vibration feedback
Speaker
Screen to 25% fixed.
Animated wallpapers.

Turn those on when you need it. Only when you need it.
