[Pop Sci] Physicists Say Speed-of-Light-Breaking Neutrinos Would've Lost Their Energy - Page 5

I have to admit, this is still pretty exciting. For example: It took THOUSANDS of years to determine a value for something many of us take for granted, the number pi. (Which still baffles many today.) I cannot imagine the amount of work that is going to go into proving/disproving this data and the laws/theories that coincide with it.

These guys have a lot of work ahead of themselves.

(Fun Fact: Carl Sagan suggested that the number pi contains a hidden message contained within its digits from the creator of the universe in one of his books. )

It isn't possible to break the speed light using our current earth bound laws of physics. Extra terrestrials have their own laws of physics that they created and these particles are nothing but camera particles that detect other planets that have intelligent life.

This just means that extra terrestrials have found our planet with their camera attached Neutrinos which is huge news to me and other astronaut theorists. All of the work that scientists do researching and trying to come up with new theory's is a waste of time because extra terrestrials are ahead of us by over one million years ahead of us (stage 3 civilizations).

We're just idiots and so are the scientist's working on this stuff.

You are confusing the common word 'theory' with the scientific term 'theory'

A scientific theory is the framework that best explains the body of evidence at hand. It isn't just an 'unproved assumption', it's a tried and tested framework.

Becoming a 'scientific theory' is the highest level anything in science can reach:

Gravitational THEORY
Germ THEORY
THEORY of Evolution
Big-Bang THEORY

Gravitational theory, describe gravity and its behavior. It does not explain in any fundamental way, how gravity works in reality.

Germ theory, well its right about the cause of infectious disease

Theory of evolution, while well supported. depends on other evidence for its validity from separate disciplines. many confuse the TOE with the origin of life, a separate matter.

Big Bang theory is nice and all, but it doesn't explain much and the hyperinflation idea goes out the window every time we find more space and the universe gets older.

I think you missed this sentence in my post:

Quote:

Science isn't perfect. Nor does it know everything. But with the information we have right now, those theories are the best explanations we have. If an observation appears [like neutrinos moving faster than light], the theory is modified to incorporate the new information.

according to relativity, gravity and the speed of light transmit at the same rate.

A theory is just that..A theory. Doesn't mean it's true no matter what, it means at this moment in time that's what science says is true. Theories have been broken tons of times before.

lol at the quote..."case closed" my ***. Case isn't closed until you can explain the results, any scientist knows this.
