EVGA GTX 460 2gb vs Zotac GTX 460 2gb

Hey guys,
I'm going buy another graphics card on top of my Palit GTX 460 2gb to SLI on my Gigabyte P55 USB3 motherboard. Someone told me to buy a 2gb GPU instead of a 1gb because of stability issues. Which one would you recommend? The 2gb EVGA? Or the 2gb Zotac?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Personally i would choice EVGA. They have better CS and better rma. I have built 10 computers with evga 460 and 20 with 480 and never had a single one fail. Zotac is also nice but from what i have read and built the some of the fans are noisy

Hope this helps ur choice

That is pretty amazing dude..30 builds..this is my first one I built last year, just trying to get a little more power out of it. I also feel the EVGA is better after reading some reviews, do you think it's a good idea to SLI on my motherboard also because one slot is x16 and the other is x8. I don't want to buy it and have the x8 one slow down my x16 slot.

Thanks

From what i remember being told the difference is miniscule when going 16x-8x instead of 16x-16x. Also i believe 2 460 beat or come close to a 570 or 580 and also you can overclock them if you have amazing airflow. Also with 460's they are older cards and are cheaper so its nice that u get such a great card at a amazing price.

If you go to the online deal section of the forums and are lucky enough to have a microcenter near you there is a coupon for 10% off pci-e graphic cards.

Glad to help you out good luck with the card.

Another suggestion. If you have a big case with great airflow and dont mind getting a evga card that dumps alittle heat get this card because it lets some heat out the side of the card.

If you dont want heat dumped in the case and just go out the back get the EVGA GTX 460 EE (External Exhaust )

He said he is looking for 2Gb cards and those are both 1Gb cards. If he were looking for 1Gb cards there are much better options that those EVGAs you posted, but seeing as the options are fewer for 2Gb cards the EVGA may very well be the better option, why don't you post both specific cards you are considering.

I have really good air flow in my case and i'm going to water cool everything in the near future. I have a HAF932 right now with stock fans and dual enermax fans. I'm going to get the EVGA 460 2gb then, read a lot of reviews and it seems good. Hopefully there won't be a lot of difference between the x16/x8 like you said and if there is I guess i'll have to return it. The other one i was considering was the Zotac but I haven't heard good reviews from them.
