If you don't already have a child, then you'll understand when you do. It's much more important to have a camera at the ready for whatever happens, than to have top-tier photo quality. I take 98% of my pictures with my phone (currently 3GS), and 2% with my 12MP DSLR. I love the quality of the DSLR photos, but unless it's a planned photoshoot, I just never have it handy enough to snap the shots when I want to get them.
So, this new 8MP, 1080p camera will be amazing for me.

By about 3 - 5%, this is a normal occurrence with new announcements, happens every year.
Siri, iCloud, etc. are all software, I was referring more to the hardware aspect. The fact is that the iPhones lag severely behind in CPU/GPU power, but Apple plays this up and tout the A5 as the 990X of phones. The camera is overhyped as well. "1080p! 1080p!" There's still no reason not to have LTE.
Look at MacRumors. Look at the number of people viewing this thread right now. Hell I've had a couple of friends text me and ask if I'm watching the keynote.
This is a very minor update and they have a full-blown THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING event.
I don't understand why everyone says the iPhones lag severely behind other phones. Unless I'm missing something, this new 4S will be the top speed phone in CPU. And GPU, I'm not sure, maybe someone else can chime in? I don't remember any other phone coming out with dual GPU's though.
