Haha, the SGX543MP2 already won =)

It's the clock speed of the processor which is 1GHz not the graphics processors. The 3D performance is going to be roughly the same if they're at the same clock speed as they are on the iPad 2.

2) No.
3) Not too much difference between 3.5" and 4".

The A5 is definitely no slouch. With the bump up of Exynos and the clock down of the A5 I think Nexus Prime and the 4S will be right on par with eachother performance wise.

May as well, unless iOS is ridiculously crap at using the hardware you won't really notice the difference with anything that's faster.

You're doing it wrong then...HTC Desire only lags when I use a 3D Cube for the home screen, SGS2 doesn't lag. Ever. Even on a stock ROM.

Blockworld runs well maxed out on my SGS2, but not as well my mums Desire.

That's one game, at least, that uses faster hardware.
Although I agree, I wouldn't notice the difference between my SGS2 and anything faster for a while yet, I think.

Case manufacturers rejoice.
So pretty much what Android has had for a few months, but either a bit faster (A5) or slightly more advanced. (VR)

Actually Exynos is slower in games, but (I'm guessing) equal or faster in CPU intensive tasks.

And that's it.
The dual core is worth it, it's so much faster when multi-tasking.

I have to half agree actually...At the very least, a lot of the stock diving comes from him leaving, people remember last time Apple tried to innovate without him.

Although at the moment, the differences would have been 4G, the case design and the name...

The hardware is faster, everything else needs to catch up. And by the time that has, the hardware has fallen behind, etc.
And iirc the SGS2 has a "quad core" GPU, just not clocked as high nor as efficient.

And looking at previous S2 vs iPhone 4 benchies, and considering the iPhone 4S is around 6x as fast as the iPhone 4 was, I still can't imagine the S2 will be anywhere close to the same speed as the 4S.
They meant the GPU/overall in one benchmark, I bet.
In terms of CPU, it's the same ARM Cortex-A9 based dual core, assuming it's at 1Ghz ala the iPad2, the SGS2 will be faster for CPU based stuff, why? Same chip, 200Mhz higher clock speed.

It's no where near the sAMOLED+ screens, but the 300+ PPI helps a lot.

Like? Different software, case and name. That's really it.

There's barely anything more in the SGS2 than the iP4S, it's just the lack of "iPhone 5" that people are getting pissy about.

I even find my blackberry to be too large to comfortably clip to my belt under a suit.

If I didn't absolutely have to use a blackberry for work purposes I would be looking for the smallest cellphone possible.

I have to admit I'm a bit confused about cell phones today. For every other type of electronics, smaller-more compact is better and yet cellphones keep getting bigger and bigger. We had an option to upgrade to a new blackberry with a touchscreen (not the torch, the other one) and the thing was bloody huge!
Pockets.

Use pockets.

Even my SGS2's screen is a bit small for me, 4.7" would be great.

I think the 4S has the potential to beat the S2, but then again the S2's true capabilities can be hampered by inefficient benchmark software (since it's proprietary Samsung design) and Android OS itself.
iirc the CPU is the same design, but the GPU is faster.

I think Android as a whole could be faster, but Dalvik/Java/whatever holds it back.

What more do you want to see?
Unless Apple have clocked it at 1.2Ghz, the CPU speed will be slower.

Not to mention, RAM, etc can also make a large difference, we don't know anything about all of this yet.

Then get back on a Zilog Z-80 and CP/M and use your PC for word processing, people said the exact same thing about improved computers.

Only clock for clock, at 800Mhz it won't match anything with a dual core. But I doubt anyone could pick the difference, dual core phones are really fast.

I agree that after this generation of dual cores, most people won't see the difference apart from improved graphics, but seriously. It can do a lot more than you think.

As someone who has used both, as well as a 3.1" and 4.3", you have no idea how wrong you are.

1) Nerd talk for "Watch this video", it's great to be able to plug a phone into your HDTV rather than grabbing a laptop, etc.

2) I agree...However OS' shouldn't use the paging file while there's still over 2GB free RAM, does that stop Windows from doing that? No, hence why people improve the pagefile, same story here.

3) Why do you need 3D games on your computer/console? Why do you need to do anything but type up essays, etc in Word and go on facebook? Then you need to send an important email to your boss, but oh wait, your machine was a bit too unstable and crashed. Same story, once again. It's useful to piss time away when you'd normally be sitting around waiting anyway, and most phones don't have that bad battery life, my SGS2 lasts over 2 hours playing Blockworld with over 25% battery left afterwards, easy.

4) ...And I have one of those? I don't have a HTPC because my phone does a superior job (ie. The same thing, with far less power usage) nor do I have any consoles, BR players (Hence why I'm streaming in the first place) or a way to plug the Ethernet cable into my TV.

5) I record my music (From the amp) with my SGS2, its decent quality (Good enough for demo tapes), is very quick and lets me listen to it straight away or, for example, record different amp sounds if I'm in a store trying out new guitar amps, plus the drawing apps (while not photoshop or illustrator) are very good and still decent enough to use.

Anything more?

I meant decoding for native playback. In fact, I'm enjoying full 720p (even 1080p) content on my Galaxy S II and ASUS Transformer without lugging my huge laptop.

2.) Mobile Websites should not have resource intensive or flash on their webpages with the exception of youtube. It's bad web design.

Do you think phones are contented with mere mobile sites? We could already load FULL desktop versions of any website today. Hell, I could even play games off Newgrounds and access YouTube for true 1080p video.

3.) Why do you need 3D gaming on a cellphone? To play on the subway ride? Get off the subway and you need to call your boss because your late? Oh I'm sorry, you just wasted all of your battery life playing your "3D" game.

I'm sure Infinity Blade didn't make Epic millions because it was just a simple time-killer. Have you seen the excellent graphics of the game? How about those Tegra-optimized games on Android, where the dual-core processors are given justice with better-looking games than SD counterparts?

4.) This feature should never be used. If you have netflix, you either stream it via an HTPC, Xbox 360, PS3, or enabled blu-ray player or webtv.

People actually do stream content off their phones through DLNA, WiFi Direct etc. because it's more convenient for them. What if you want to watch a video from your phone on a TV but you don't have another copy of it elsewhere?

5.) My TI-89 has a 100 MHz processor, and does 3D Graphing, advanced calculus functions, and does it very fast. Picture Editing should never be done on a phone. Content Creation? As an example, no self respecting DJ would use an iPhone or a Galaxy S over a dedicated DJ set.

More and more artists, DJ's, etc. are using mobile apps for mobility and flexibility, as opposed to just relying on full-size equipment to do the job. Mobile devices are just as competitive enough to take on dedicated counterparts, whether it be for pictures, videos, music and web.
Sounds about right.

I've got a 3GS running iOS 5 and while it works reasonably well, an upgrade is noticeable.

Only clock for clock, at 800Mhz it won't match anything with a dual core. But I doubt anyone could pick the difference, dual core phones are really fast.
The A5 is very optimised though, remember that it is designed for Apple. They acquired Intrinsity to make improvements to the chip, and to design it, to work just with iOS. Although, I don't think that'll be enough to make a dual-core 800MHz CPU perform on par with a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, it should help a bit.
